East Lake
East Lake, situated on Atlanta’s trendy yet family-friendly east side, is conveniently located just 4.5 miles from downtown. As the easternmost of Atlanta’s 238 neighborhoods, East Lake is bordered by Oakhurst within Decatur city limits to the north, Kirkwood to the west, and unincorporated DeKalb County to the east and south. Known for its rich history, East Lake boasts a collection of 1940s bungalows and cottages near local eateries, shops, and MARTA transit. The neighborhood is named after the renowned East Lake Golf Club and the Bobby Jones golf course. In recent years, East Lake has experienced a revitalization, reestablishing itself as a highly desirable and diverse Atlanta neighborhood.
